LAHORE: (Monday, December 4, 2023): Under the chairmanship of Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Khalid Mahmood, the Punjab University Academic Council meeting was held at Al-Razi Hall in which the heads of departments and faculty members participated. The Academic Council adopted PhD, Post-graduate, undergraduate and anti-plagiarism policies of Higher Education Commission of Pakistan. In the meeting, it was decided to continue the associate degree program in the affiliated colleges both annually and semester system as per the request of the colleges. In his address, Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Khalid Mehmood congratulated the newly elected members of the Academic Council including Prof. Dr. Mumtaz Anwar Chaudhry and Prof. Dr. Sajid Rashid Ahmed as members of the Finance Committee, Prof. Dr. Mehboob Hussain, Prof. Dr. Sohail Chand and Prof. Dr. Rafia Rafiq as members of Advanced Research Board, Prof. Dr. Muqit Javed Bhatti as member of Sheikh Zayed Islamic Center and Prof. Dr. Kamran Abid as member of Board of Governors Center for Solid State Physics. He expressed the hope that the newly elected members would contribute to the development of the university. The Academic Council also approved new programs on the recommendations of the Board of Studies and Faculty Boards of various departments.
