LAHORE: (Monday, February 26, 2024): Azad Jammu and Kashmir High Court’s Honorable Justice Mr Justice Chaudhry Khalid Rasheed has urged the students and scholars neither to adopt over simplistic approach nor subscribe social media channels which spread misinformation for establishment of rule of law and restoration of public trust in state institution. He was addressing a special lecture on “Criminal Law: Challenges and Opportunities” organized by Punjab University Institute of Social & Cultural Studies here on Monday. On this occasion, Vice Chancellor Poonch University Rawakot Prof Dr Muhammad Zakria Zakar, Director ISCS Prof Dr Rubeena Zakar, faculty members and a large number of students were present. In his address, Justice Khalid Rasheed, who is distinguished alumnus of PU, presented a comprehensive scholarly discourse on the critical issues of rule of law in Pakistani society. He highlighted the importance of upholding ethical values such as honesty, hard-work and professionalism. He advised students and scholars to carefully analyze the facts and be optimistic about their future. Prof Dr Zakria Zakar highlighted the role of educational institutions in inculcation responsible and law abiding citizenry. Prof Dr Rubeena Zakar presented souvenir to Honorable Justice Khalid Rasheed for visiting PU and delivered a fruitful lecture on important and critical Socio-legal issues.
