The main theme was 'Rising Resilience,' a tribute to home-based workers. The event highlighted the vital contributions of home-based workers to households and economies worldwide, with students from the Department of Gender Studies showcasing their stalls. Additionally, the Chairperson of the Department of Gender Studies, Prof. Dr. Ra’ana Malik along with Ms. Ume Laila (Homenet), Danish Jabbar (CEO,Karavan Craft Foundation), Salman Abid (CEO IDEAS), Dure Shahwar (Women Chair PWF/COO APWA) participated in a thought-provoking panel discussion, adding valuable insights. The key note speakers Mrs Samia Zahid (Chairperson APWA), Ch. M. Naseem (President PWF & member board EOBI), Mr Shahzad Ashraf (Project Coordinator UN Women), Mrs Shahista Pervaiz Malik (MNA) & Chief Guest, Syeda Kulsume Hai (DG Labour Welfare) reflected on the achievements of women past and present, and they emphasised the importanceof gender equality and empowerment.
