LAHORE: (Saturday, March 9, 2024): Punjab University Institute of Social & Cultural Studies (ISCS) organized 1st convocation of Faculty of Allied Health Sciences. On this occasion, Acting Dean Faculty of Allied Health Sciences and ISCS Director Prof Dr Rubeena Zakar, CEO / MS Gulab Devi Teaching Hospital Dr Hamid Hassan, Vice Chancellor, University of Poonch, Rawalakot Prof Dr. Zakaria Zakar, Assistant Director Academics Gulab Devi Educational Complex Usman Jawad Iqbal, faculty members and students were present. In her address, Dr Rubeena Zakar welcomed the participants and congratulated the students and their parents for their success. She said that most of the students graduated from the said faculty have secured good job positions in Pakistan as well as in abroad while some of the students are enrolled in post-graduation programs. She acknowledged the support of Gulab Devi Teaching Hospital throughout the journey. Dr Hamid Hassan also congratulated the students and their parents to achieve this milestone and provided professional advises to the students. He highlighted the sensitivity and the need of ethical values for professional development. He said that that how despite of various challenges; successful completion of different programs has been accomplished with the support of PU. Prof Dr Zakaria Zakar thanked the Institute for inviting him and congratulated the students on their special day by signifying the importance of education. He highlighted the global demand and importance of the degree programs being offered under Faculty of Allied Health Sciences. He encouraged the students to use modern technological platforms and social media to upgrade their skills and knowledge. The students including Doctor of Physiotherapy, BS Anesthesia Technology, BS Medical Lab Technology, BS Optometry, BS Dental Technology, BS Operation Theatre Technology, BS Cardiac Profusion Technology and BS Medical Imaging Technology (Session 2017-2021) received their degrees in the convocation.
