LAHORE: (Thursday, April 25, 2024): Punjab University Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Khalid Mahmood has said that by learning from the mistakes of the past, we need to promote sustainable growth instead of focusing on temporary benefits in order to promote business as well as ensure protection of the environment. He was addressing the two-day 3rd international conference on ‘Business Administration’ with the theme of ‘Green Climate, Business, and Sustainable Growth: A Way Forward’ organized by Punjab University Institute of Business Administration at Dr Pervez Hassan Environmental law Centre, PU Law College. On this occasion, Allama Iqbal Open University Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Nasir Mahmood, Dean Faculty of Business, Economics and Administrative Sciences Prof Dr Mumtaz Anwar Chaudhry, Director IBA Prof Dr Muqqadas Rehman, Conference Secretary Prof Dr Sania Zahra Malik, faculty members, national and foreign researchers, scholars and a large number of students were present. In his address, Dr Khalid Mahmood said that a few decades ago, no one estimated the strength of working together, which led to several problems. Congratulating the organizers for organizing the conference, he said that it will provide opportunities for positive changes in the society by benefiting from each other's experiences and ideas. Prof Dr Mumtaz Anwar Chaudhry said that climate change is having an impact all over the world, including Pakistan, for which this conference is the most important need of the hour. He said that we have the best infrastructure and human resources which can be used properly to overcome the problems. He said that as teachers and researchers, it is our prime responsibility to pave the way for economic stability in Pakistan and then we will be able to lead in this region. Prof Dr Muqqadas Rehman said that in developing countries, there is very little discussion on such topics and practical work is almost non-existent. She said that in spite of the limited resources, by learning from the conference, they will present better solutions for climate change by using modern technology. She thanked the PU VC for his support for the successful conference. Prof Dr Sania Zahra Malik said that it was a pleasure to have environmentalists, academics and business on one platform in the two-day conference. She said that promotion of business education in Pakistan is also a good omen. The conference will continue on Friday (today) as well.
