PU PSC organizes seminar Pakistan Study Centre, University of the Punjab organized a seminar on "Palestine Issue: Past & Present" on Tuesday, May 21, 2024. Prof. (r) Dr. Moeen Mazhar, Former Principal, Oriental College, University of the Punjab, Lahore was the keynote speaker. Prof. Dr. Naumana Kiran, Director, Pakistan Study Centre presided over the session and welcomed the guests and the participants. In his keynote speech, Prof. Dr. Mazhar Moeen began by presenting the geo-political history of the region and why Islam prevailed in these lands and explained in detail the events that led to the establishment of the state of Israel on the land that was termed as Bait ul Maqdas, the Land of purity. He explained how the lack of planning and far-sight and most of all unity on the part of Muslims led to the gradual and eventual ousting of Muslims. Being a seasoned historian and linguist, he kept his analysis historically supported and urged the participants to investigate all sources of history before formulating any opinion and not allow continue being unacquainted to the Arabic language.
