PU and Hungarian Embassy organize exhibition LAHORE: (Friday, December 9, 2022): Punjab University and Hungarian Embassy have jointly organized a week-long art exhibition based on Islamic architecture and culture in Hungary at College of Art & Design’s Grand Hall. Ambassador of Hungary Mr Bela Fazekas, Federal Secretary Investments Asad-ur-Rahman Gillani, former Provincial Minister for Minority Affairs Ijaz Alam Augustine, CAD Principal Dr Sumera Jawad, External Linkages Director Prof Dr Shobia Khuram, deans of various faculties, faculty members and students were present on the occasion. Addressing the event, the Ambassador of Hungary Béla Fazekas, welcomed the participants of the exhibition and said that there are traces of ancient Islamic architecture in Hungary. He said that Islamic architecture and other cultural values had been protected in Hungary. He said that we wanted people here to know about Islamic heritage in Hungary. He said that the architecture of the Ottoman Empire was impressive. He said that in 2013, the Turkish and Hungarian governments started projects to secure Islamic buildings. He said that Hungary, Turkey and Pakistan were developing excellent relations. He said that Ertugrul Ghazi's drama serial was also very popular in Hungary. He said that we will celebrate the joint cultural year next year together with Turkey.
