LAHORE: (Thursday, December 22, 2022): Punjab University Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Asghar Zaidi inaugurated the Mewaki Forest Settlement Project at New Campus. The inaugural ceremony was attended by the Registrar Raja Shahid Javed, RO-I Col (r) Umar Khalid, RO-II Jalil Tariq, Director Students Affairs Prof Dr Sajid Rashid, officers and students. Addressing the ceremony, Dr Asghar Zaidi said that the process of planting thousands of saplings on 2 acres of land behind Vice Chancellor’s house had been launched. He said that PU administration was engaging its students in positive activities. He said that fruit trees were also being planted in Miwaki forest. He said that Miwaki forest was a reservoir of oxygen. He said that the project had also been aimed at providing a new home for birds. He said that the university was going to provide environment-friendly atmosphere to students, teachers and employees.
